Dog Hydration Supplements

Every dog can benefit from a hydration supplement, as when dogs exercise or are out in warm weather, they lose essential fluids, which causes dehydration. As a result of this, they can then also experience fatigue, overheating and it takes them longer to recover from the exercise. Our dog hydration drink helps to replenish those lost fluids and electrolytes, to keep our dogs healthy and happy. 

The electrolytes in our hydration supplement for dogs are essential minerals that support various bodily functions in dogs, including their nerve and muscle function. Without them, your dog may struggle to quickly recover from more intense exercise or hot temperatures. 

Dog rehydration drinks are especially important for active, working or senior dogs, who tend to get dehydrated more often. If your dog doesn’t drink much water, electrolytes can also help to maximise hydration. A well hydrated dog has more energy and will be ready for action!

You can give your dog hydration supplements when required for extra hydration, with it being most effective when given in a small amount before and after intense exercise, long walks in hot weather or if they’re competing. Each day, you can give your dog up to two tablespoons of Fresh-K9 mixed in 100ml-200ml of water. So, you could make up the bowl to give them some before their activity, then finish it afterwards. If they have a tendency to gulp water down, then give your dog their hydration supplement several times a day in smaller amounts to sustain their energy level. 

Another fun way to give your dog their rehydration drink, especially to keep your dog hydrated in the summer, is to mix 2 tablespoons of the powder with 100ml-200ml of water, then pour it into our K9-Calm Enrichment Mat and freeze. This will keep them nice and cool, whilst also supporting their health and wellbeing from the inside out.
