As with many superfoods, much of the evidence for their benefits comes from research in humans. However, canine cognitive decline shares several characteristics with human Alzheimer’s disease [1-3].
Lemon balm, a key ingredient in Calm-K9 Senior Boost, has been shown to improve cognitive function and reduce agitation associated with Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive decline in humans [4,5]. Studies have also indicated that lemon balm can enhance cognitive performance and mood in healthy, young individuals [6].
Calm-K9 Senior Boost contains a blend of antioxidants and B-vitamins that have demonstrated cognition-enhancing effects [7,8]. Additionally, phosphatidyl choline supports neurological health by reinforcing cell structure and aiding in the production of neurotransmitters [9].
This formula also includes L-tryptophan and probiotics, which contribute further to gut and cognitive health. Details on these ingredients can be found in the Calm-K9 product description.

Yes. Calm-K9 Senior Boost is formulated to specifically target the signs of ageing in senior dogs, but it can be fed to an adult dog of any age, if you wish. However, don't forget that we also have Calm-K9 Max Strength, which is the formulation for younger dogs!
As Calm-K9 Senior Boost is centrally-acting, to be safe, we recommend stopping Calm-K9 Max Strength & Calm-K9 Senior Boost Max Strength 3 days before the operation and picking up again 3 days after. All other supplements can be given the day before and restarted after 48 hours.
Just like humans, as our dogs age, their joints age too. And once one joint is stiff, our dogs start to move differently, increasing the wear and tear on their other joints, so those become stiff too.
So often, older dogs - and even younger dogs who have sustained injury, or those with a disability - find themselves in a vicious cycle of stiffness and reduced movement, and then, the less they move, the stiffer they become!
Seeing our dogs struggle with mobility and grow older is hard. That’s why our team of vets and expert nutritionists put their heads together to create a joint supplement bursting with active ingredients to not only support the natural production of joint lubricant, but also to boost the body’s own anti-inflammatory processes!
Whether you’re protecting your dog’s joints as a puppy (6 months and older) or supporting them as they age, adding Flexi-K9 Max Strength to their diet will help keep them moving, strong and flexible – for as long as possible!
