About Calm K9

Your powder comes in a handy plastic pot sealed to keep it fresh. If the seal is split, don’t use it. Return it and we’ll send you a fresh one.

You’ll find an expiry date on the bottom of the pot. Once opened, you can still use it for up to 2 years. But, your dog will benefit more by getting a scoop a day.

Of course! We love an international crowd and ship worldwide.

Missing a dose isn’t a major problem and won’t have a massive effect on the process but please don’t double scoop on the next feeding. Try to make it part of your daily feeding regime.

Tom Mitchell, one of the brains behind CALM-K9 and AbsoluteDogs, co-created the product in collaboration with a specialist nutritional formulator.  Tom - a world-renowned authority on dog science - is a veterinarian, behaviourist and professional dog trainer. As well as his veterinary degree, he also holds a first-class honours in Animal Behaviour & Welfare.

It is recommended that care should be taken when using L-tryptophan containing products with centrally-acting medication like Benzodiazepines such as diazepam, Non Benzodiazepines such as SSRIs and Barbiturates such as phenobarbital, especially with regard to behaviour modification medication to avoid a doubling up of effect. If your dog is taking any of these medications, discuss Calm-K9 with the prescribing vet before using it

Just follow the feeding guide, provided. A scoop a day based on your dog’s weight, height and breed has been calculated for you.

That’s very unusual. But, If after 50 days you’re not seeing the transformation in your dog’s behaviour. We’ll give you the support you need to achieve your dog-owning dreams. Get in touch with a transformation advisor at hello@a-ok9.com for free advice and information.

It’s super simple, just mix a scoop of powder into your dog’s daily feed.

This is a very palatable powder but sometimes if not added with enough wet food, it might be your dog finds the texture dry. Try to mix it in with the daily feed really well. If that doesn’t work make it into a paste beforehand.

Calm-K9 is fed by body weight. Your dog only needs a small amount once daily!

How much does your dog weigh?

0-10kg (22lbs): Half a teaspoon daily!

10-20kg (22lbs-44lbs): 1 teaspoon daily!

20-40kg (44-88lbs): 2 teaspoons daily!

40kg+ (88lbs+): 2 and a half teaspoons daily!

Calm-K9 has a multi-targeted effect and doesn’t just help behaviour! This means you can feed it daily to help to keep brain and gut health balance for the life of your dog!

It also swells in water forming a forms a gelatinous mass which keeps the faeces soft and increases bulk slowing transit time and improving uptake of nutrients in the colon.

L-Cartinine – L-Carnitine is pivotal in fatty acid oxidation and energy metabolism and seems to have beneficial effects on physical performance such as increased maximum oxygen consumption and power output. L-carnitine is a non-protein amino acid naturally found in the body. The main function of L-carnitine is to transfer long-chain fatty acids in the form of their acyl-carnitine esters across the inner mitochondrial membrane before beta-oxidation. This process allows the body to turn fat into energy. Most of L-carnitine is provided by the diet, especially from dairy products and red meat. It is also found in certain fish and plants. In the liver and kidneys, L-carnitine can also be synthesized from the amino acids methionine and/or lysine.  L-carnitine plays a key role in cellular energy production. It is essential for beta-oxidation of long-chain fatty acids in the mitochondria. To enter the mitochondria, fatty acids must bind to coenzyme A, forming fatty acyl-CoA.

Zinc – plays an important role in many substances including enzymes, proteins, and hormones. Zinc has an important role in the immune system and thyroid function.

Vitamin C – a natural anti-oxidant.

Vitamin E – a potent anti-oxidant.

Co-enzyme Q10 – Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like compound present in virtually all cells and in especially high concentrations in the heart, liver, kidney, and pancreas. Within the cell, 25% to 30% of total coenzyme Q10 is found in the nucleus, 40% to 50% in the mitochondria and as such is key in producing energy. Its primary functions include activity as an antioxidant, a membrane stabilizer, and as a cofactor in many metabolic pathways, particularly in the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in oxidative respiration.

Vitamin B1 – essential for metabolism of fats and carbohydrates, energy metabolism for nervous system and muscles and a healthy appetite.

Vitamin B2 – essential for growth and muscle development, eye health and a healthy coat.

Vitamin B3 – essential for the proper function of enzymes, a healthy appetite and a healthy nervous system, skin nails and GIT function.

Vitamin B5 – a structural element of many coenzymes, plays a central role in energy metabolism and the synthesis of sex hormones.

Vitamin B6 – essential for the body’s utilisation of protein and the synthesis of neurotransmitters.

Manganese – produces energy, metabolise protein and carbohydrates, and to make fatty acids. Manganese is an important part of many enzymes and plays a role in the health and maintenance of bone and cartilage in joints.

Vitamin B12 – supports protein, carbohydrate and fat metabolism, GIT and nervous system health, immune function and the healthy production of red blood cells.

Folic acid – folates have an important role in nucleoprotein synthesis, homocysteine metabolism, cellular division, erythropoiesis, neural development and the synthesis of neurotransmitters.
