These Ingredients Support Your Dog's Brain and Gut... And Can...
Transform The Results From Your Training...
Training has its biggest impact on your dog’s behaviour when it’s teamed with gut and brain wellness.
So what ingredients can we feed our dogs to provide them with the best support?
1. Mood-Boosting L-Tryptophan
L-tryptophan is an amino acid, and it's the building block of serotonin - “the happy chemical”. L-tryptophan rich food sources include turkey meat, pumpkin seeds and salmon.
2. Microbiome-Boosting Probiotics
In 2016, researchers transplanted bacteria from the gut of clinically depressed humans into the gut of rats and found they, in turn, became sadder, more fearful and reclusive. These studies highlight the importance of supporting an animal’s gut to support their behaviour!
3. Passiflora Incarnata
Passiflora Incarnata contains flavonoids, alkaloids and glycosides that seem to have calming effects. It seems to attach to proteins in the brain called GABA receptors. When this happens it results in a calming effect which can help feelings of anxiety, stress and fear. It is also thought a reduced level of GABA can cause anxiety.
4. Lemon Balm Extract
Lemon balm is a perennial, lemon-scented herb native to southern Europe, Asia Minor, and North Africa. It contains a range of flavonoids and polyphenolic compounds which contribute to its behavioural effects. Passiflora incarnata and lemon balm can work in conjunction to lower anxiety during stress.
5. Mannan oligosaccharides
Mannan Oligosaccharides supports healthy gut flora by providing a substrate to support the growth of beneficial flora. These insoluble fibres reach the colon intact and act as prebiotics which are an important source of food for the beneficial bacteria (probiotics) of the colon. They effectively act as a food for the probiotics.
6. Beta Glucans
Provide favourable conditions for natural flora growth. They can also boost the immune system by promoting neutrophils, monocytes and interleukines.
